MENSTRUATION EDUCATION FOR YOUTH WITH DISABILITIES IN KEPUHARJO

XML

Menstruation or menstruation refers to the periodic expulsion of blood and body cells from the vagina from
the wall of a woman's uterus. Menstruation begins at puberty and marks a woman's ability to bear children,
although other health factors may limit this capacity. Menstruation usually begins between the ages of 10
and 16, depending on a variety of factors, including the woman's health, nutritional status, and weight
relative to height. Menstruation lasts about once a month until the woman reaches the age of 45 - 50 years,
again depending on health and other influences. The end of a woman's ability to menstruate is called
menopause and marks the end of a woman's period of pregnancy. The average length of the menstrual
cycle is 2% days, but ranges from 21 to 40 days. The length of the cycle can vary for one woman during
different times of her life, and even from month to month depending on a variety of things, including the
woman's physical, emotional, and nutritional health.
Persons with disabilities as marginalized or excluded are parties that need serious attention to be
empowered so that they are independent and able to develop their villages. The negative stigma attached
to people with disabilities in Kepuharjo slowly began to disappear with the assistance through caring
programs. The community-based approach by taking into account the potential of the available resources
continues to be developed. Support continues to be encouraged. The process of learning from each other to
strengthen capacity and a sense of caring is a need that is continuously strengthened within the Ark. Social
acceptance from parents/families, the community as well as social services and policies in the form of the
Village Fund budget allocation provided by the village government has opened the horizon for critical
thinking and critical awareness of all elements that persons with disabilities are also citizens who have the
same rights. Recognition, proper and equal treatment for persons with disabilities is getting stronger. This
community service was held in Kepuharjo on March 6, 2022 where the participants were youth with
disabilities. From the results of menstrual education given to adolescents with disabilities, youth with disabilities understand and understand menstruation and how to put sanitary napkins on, maintain
